Where Is the Best Place to Install a GPS Tracker?
Place the GPS antenna where it has a clear view of the sky and the unit is hidden and protected from heat, water and tampering.

The best place to install a GPS tracker is inside the dashboard or under a seat where the GNSS antenna still has an unobstructed sky view, the unit is concealed, and wiring is away from moving parts and high heat. Under metal roofs or inside fully enclosed metal boxes the signal drops, so keep the antenna near a window or use an external antenna.
Keep a Clear Sky View
GNSS needs line-of-sight to satellites. Avoid placing the module under thick metal, tinted reflective glass or inside the engine bay. Dashboard top or near the windshield (with an internal antenna) works well.
Hide and Protect the Unit
Conceal behind panels, secure with ties, and route the red/black/orange wires along factory harnesses. Keep away from the exhaust, ECU heat and water ingress points.
