What Is Video Telematics?

Video telematics merges GPS tracking with in-vehicle cameras (dash cam / MDVR) for live view, AI event detection and video evidence.

Atualizado 23/08/2026

Video telematics is the combination of a GPS tracker and in-vehicle video — a dash cam or multi-channel MDVR — so position and video are synchronized. AI can detect harsh braking, lane departure, fatigue or cell-phone use, upload clips on event, and let managers live-view any vehicle. It turns tracking from "where" into "what happened".

Dash Cam vs MDVR

A dash cam is usually 1–2 channels (front/rear) and simple. An MDVR supports 4–8 channels (surround, cabin, cargo) with storage and AI — better for buses, trucks and risky cargo.

AI Events and Live View

AI flags dangerous driving and uploads the clip with GPS position and speed. Managers can live-view to verify incidents and coach drivers with real footage.
