What should I prepare before installing a GPS tracker?
Prepare the wiring diagram for the exact model, a multimeter, fuse, cable ties and an active data SIM. Confirm whether the vehicle is 12V or 24V, then disconnect power before wiring to avoid short circuits or incorrect connections.
Can a GPS antenna be completely hidden inside metal?
It is not recommended. Metal roofs, sealed metal boxes and underground parking can significantly weaken satellite reception. Keep the antenna near a window or non-metal area and away from heat, water and moving parts.
The tracker has network signal but is offline on the platform. What should I check first?
Check SIM data, the APN, server IP and port, local network-band compatibility and whether the platform last-report time is updating. Work through those items in that order before replacing the device.
Are SMS commands and wire colors the same for every tracker?
No. Wire colors, relay connections, APN SMS commands and default servers can vary by model. Always consult the manual or protocol document for the exact tracker before installation or sending commands.
